During the spring term children in
year 3 studied the work of the famous artist Pablo Picasso.
They used a variety of different paintings by Picasso
and a range of medium to recreate his work. This is
called 'The Head of the Faun' and has been recreated
using oil pastels. |

During the Spring
Term Year 3 have been learning about performance poetry.
We used the poem 'Songofthe
AnimalWorld', which is a traditional Pygmy song,
and created our own performances to the poem. We then
used the same style and rhythm of the poem to write
our own performance poems based on this model. |

Short Stories written
by 6R |
Twigs snapped as the man stood calmly
looking at the moon. He glared into the shadows behind him.
Two yellow eyes came closer and closer towards him. He froze
unable to move, his heart beating faster and faster. Perspiration
running down his face as his mouth ran dry. |
Tap! Tap! Tap! |
The man glanced behind him but there
was nothing there. The eyes were nowhere to be seen. As he
turned away, his hand brushed against a cold, scaly surface.
Hot breath warmed his neck. |
"You're all mine now!" whispered
a voice in his ear. |

Short Story by Abbie Stanton |
What she could see was a strange figure
walking slowly to the door. He had spiky hair and in the moonlight
she could see he had a wrinkled face. Dressed in old rags
he was dragging an axe. |
She was scared and shivering and she
closed the curtains gently. Very bravely she went downstairs
and opened the door. She could see his face. |
It was her granddad. |
"Welcome home," he said, "I
was just cutting down a tree for Christmas." |
